Rosie's View

The news is that Rosie O'Donnell is set to replace Meredith Viera on the TV talkshow The View. As an avid fan of the deceased Rosie O'Donnell Show, I couldn't be more happy that Rosie is returning to television and hopefully once she gets there she'll get the show to showcase some Broadway talent.

One thing I'm wondering about though, with Rosie there and Meredith gone, won't the whole balance of the show be disrupted? Before, there was Meredith to add gravity; Star to be P.C.; Joy for comedic relief; Elizabeth as the token obnoxious, closed minded, right wing idiot; and Barbra to fill her empty mornings when she felt like waking up early. Once Rosie comes, she and Joy may overpower the show (of course that wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing if it resulted in kicking Star and Elizabeth to the curb).

Also, it seems a major part of watching The View, is listening to the five hostesses talk about their sex lives (even Meredith commented that, ((on the show)) "every other word out of my mouth is 'orgasm' ".) So, when this 'girl talk' begins, will Rosie chirp in about what antics she and Kelly performed the night before? And if so will the people of America be able to handle it? Only time will tell. One thing is for sure however, this will be interesting.

One last thought... Ellen on NBC, Rosie on ABC... the lesbians are taking over daytime! Rosie, welcome back.
