Songs To Slit Your Wrists To

Everyone has the song that they like to put on when they're depressed; because it makes them even more so. In middle school mine was On My Own from Les Miserables. In high school it was Foolish Games by Jewel, perpetually followed by Time To Say Goodbye performed by Andrea Boccelli and Sarah Brightman.

Over the years the songs have matured into titles such as: The Man That Got Away, and Losing My Mind. But now I have found a new one. A song that so perfectly fits my melancholy I can't even deal with it. The song is Both Sides Now by Joni Mitchell. Essentially all it is is a slower arrangement of her early hit, Clouds. I first heard the new version in the film "Love Actually". It was played over a brilliant scene of Emma Thompson's. I can't really go into it at the moment because I'll be forced to watch the scene on repeat for the next two hours. But suffice it to say the song is beautiful, and it has been playing in my apartment for the past two days. If I make it through the week without shooting myself or drinking myself into a stupor, I will be amazed.

So NOW I know why you used to play "Jewel" almost every week at CCD. =)

I'm sure you can guess who this is....
