That Most Wonderful Time Of The Year

I'm sick. I woke up on Sunday with a sore throat, but still managed to sing. By Sunday night.... that was done. For the past three days I can't breathe, my head is foggy, my throat hurts, and I've drunk so much orange juice that my urine reaks of citrus. Amidst all of this I have to go to rehearsal and try to project my voice beyond seven inches in front of my face. I don't know who is to blame for this.... but when I find out- heads will roll.
I'm a big baby when I'm sick (in case you haven't noticed). I get three colds a year like clockwork: 1- When the weather changes from Summer to Autumn (which is where I am with this one), 2- At Christmas (I have been sick for Christmas for the past three years... 'tis the season, eh?), and 3- in the middle of Summer (always at the hottest point too. This year I got sick in the middle of my run in Fame: the musical, make up only semi covers a red nose).
I'm not exactly sure what makes me so susceptible to colds. Could it be that I don't eat properly? Or that I rarely sleep? Or that I keep my windows open all Winter long and my air conditioner on full blast? ....... nah, probably not. I'm still looking for a scape goat. But thank God for my cat, my flannel pajamas, and my Gilmore Girls DVDs.... much needed succor.
