The End Of Delight

Well, Idiot's Delight has now closed.... and though I am happy about having had the opportunity to work at The New York State Theatre Institute, I have to admit to being a little baffled. Already, every cent that I earned doing the show is gone. My bills (both new and outstanding) sucked every ounce of money from my rapidly growing bank account. So, somehow I now have less money than when I started rehearsal. Irritating. Though, by definition, this is what it means to be an actor.... robbing Peter to pay Paul, all the while hoping for a job.

But I will say, I have been quite fortunate this year... since May I have gone right from one show into another and October is no different. I recently began rehearsals for The Moscow Arts Ballet's production of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol. No it is not a ballet; it is just being sponsored by a Ballet Company. I'm playing "Young Scrooge" which is actually quite exciting.

Looking back over the past six months I realize that I have gone right from: Lend Me A Tenor to The Burnt Part Boys to Fame: the musical to Idiot's Delight to A Christmas Carol. A very busy six months..... though what will happen when Carol closes I don't know.... perhaps I'll go insane.

At least it'll keep my mind occupied.

Above is a pic of me in costume from Idiot's Delight. I wanted to wear the fuzzy red hat but the costume designer gave it to Regina instead. I'm still pouty about that.
